This lesson is designed for skiers who want to step into freeride skiing or feel more confident skiing off-piste terrain.
We’ll meet in the morning at the Alpental parking lot near Snoqualmie Pass, then head up into the mountains where the lesson begins.
The focus is on core freeride skills, safety basics, and understanding how to move in mountain terrain.
This is a half-day lesson, running from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a small group of up to 5 people to keep it personal and hands-on.

🎿 What We’ll Cover
This lesson focuses on the fundamentals, including:
Basic freeride skiing techniques
How to move safely in off-piste terrain
Avalanche safety basics
How to use avalanche gear:
Beacon (transceiver)
Shovel
Probe
Introduction to radio communication in the mountains
Basic ski touring transitions (skins on/off, transitions in mixed terrain)
This is an intro-level experience focused on awareness, technique, and safety — not an advanced or technical course.

Skis suitable for freeride/off-piste skiing
Ski boots
Helmet
Avalanche beacon, shovel, and probe
